The City of Uusikaupunki has reserved a project area of approximately 24 hectares for Olana Energy to develop a data center project. The preliminary capacity of the data center’s first phase is approximately 30 megawatts, and capacity can later be increased as grid capacity allows.
The necessary zoning or permitting process will be initiated for the area. The process will assess the conditions for implementing the project and reconcile it with the area’s natural values and other land use, such as nearby residential areas.
The data center is being designed to also support AI workloads. No natural water bodies will be used for cooling the data center; instead, cooling will be based on a closed liquid loop. We will draw on our expertise in energy storage and flexible energy generation.
Olana Energy is developing the project together with future end users.
We will provide more information as the project progresses.
